Depends on your needs. I think the zlx is fine for most bday parties.

I never had an issue with my setup, I never felt underpowered because my shows are normal typical sized halls with up to guest on average. I have a pair of Ev zlx15p tops with a single qsc kw sub.
Whats the max number of guess you think this setup can handle until it shows signs of stress? Jace AM - 7 February, Quote:.

Electro Voice ELX115P or Electro Voice ZLX15P
They are almost exactly the same wattage as well bottoms and tops. The EVOX did have that array effect of more consistant front to back volume. The ZXA are tiny, 19lbs boxes but with a 15" sub each they work! I tried them with subs almost expecting it not to work at a super small wedding, then several larger ones.
They have their limit I run them hi passed but for dancing they are great. The A is stupid loud.
I hope I have made a reasonable choice. I like wooden boxes vs composite and reviews on the ELXp are very positive.
I thought it was worth it largely due to very good reviews on the ELXs. The main issue seems to be that the speakers can get marked up easily.
The Inconvenient Truth about your Electro-Voice ZLX-12P & ZLX15P amplifier
Sound quality, clarity and clear sound reproduction is what I am looking for, not loud. Reviews on this speaker convinced me on the sp. Unfortunately there are no EV dealers where I live.
Hope so anyway.

I see a mixture of pros and cons from many. Which one is more practical for live performance.
Is the difference better sounding in stereo. Probably but in a large hall mono might be preferred.
I would be interested in hearing some comments. In my sq ft office it will be stereo but when gigging with the ELXp I would probably run mono with out the sub. There is a bass player so no real need for the EKX 18 sub too. To participate in this forum discussion please log in to your Serato account. Sign in.
