Whether this could be a drop in replacement with the same shifter mechanism is yet to be seen. No mention of this new hub elsewhere on the web. Picture below in case their web admin has jumped the gun:.

I got a loaner bike with a Nuvinci and Bosch Peformance line drive. The bike started to stall and I didn't want to insist. It's not a x but the regular Not sure how much difference that would make.
For a given amount of power, it will depend on the gear ratio used for the chainring and the sprocket. This is where the x is interesting.
More Power… Less Boring
In itself it does not change the ratio issue, but it allows you to use it with a more powerful motor which would solve the issue you encountered. More power meaning the ability to climb that hill on the lowest NuVinci ratio.
